Description

The collection consists of 12 black and white photographs of Chichester Cathedral showing the collapse of the tower and spire in 1861. Two of the photographs were taken by W H Mason of Brighton and the others remain unattributed though they must be closely linked with the restoration of the cathedral carried out by G G Scott.

Archival History

The collection was acquired by The English Heritage Archive before 2013.
