Description

This photographic collection records three sites: Leeds Castle, Kent, Crosby Hall in the City of London and Lapworth in Warwickshire. Views of Crosby Hall show this important medieval building in its original location immediately prior to demolition. The collection also records the buildings and people of Leeds Castle Estate in the latter years of the nineteenth century and the Packworth House Estate around the turn of the twentieth century. The collection is made up of original black and white photographic prints mounted on card, together with glass negatives and their associated file prints.

The collection was donated by D A H Cleggett, Historical Advisor to Leeds Castle Foundation, and was catalogued in detail between May and November 2000. The photographer and provenance of the prints is unknown. Items within the collection date between 1898 and 1908.
