Description
The collection comprises 18 lantern slides of Castle Acre, Norfolk. There are 15 black and white lantern slides showing Castle Acre Priory; 1 black and white slide showing the Bailey Gate in Castle Acre; and 2 colour transparencies of the Priory in lantern slide mounts. The images were probably taken in the 1920s or 1930s and were formerly in the possession of the family of William Savage, the first custodian of Castle Acre Priory who was appointed in 1929 and held the post for 35 years.
Archival History
The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2022.
