Description

The collection comprises three black and white salted paper photographic prints produced between about 1850 and 1859, and loose pages from a printed book. The prints showing Easby Abbey and Kirkstall Abbey were taken by Philip Henry Delamotte and were published as part of the book: 'A Photographic Tour Among the Abbeys of Yorkshire. With Descriptive Notices by John Richard Walbran and William Jones' (1856). The third print is of the north doorway of Brinkburn Priory by an unknown photographer. It was not part of the book and the subject ('Alnwick') written on the back is incorrect.
