Description

The collection consists of 140 albums and 24 folders of photographic negatives, prints and diapositives, taken by The Downland Partnership Ltd between 1992 and 2007. They relate to systematic measured surveys of properties primarily in England, although a small proportion of the sites are in Wales, Scotland, the Channel Islands, Ireland, Norway and the USA.

The collection covers a wide range of sites from cathedrals, castles, schools, houses and town walls, some of which are English Heritage managed properties. These include Apsley House and Apethorpe Hall. Other work was officially commissioned for English Heritage and many relate to major English Heritage-funded projects.

The coverage is by no means purely historical and can relate to modern structures such as Stansted Airport and the Cinderella Shoe Factory.
