Description

The collection comprises a single photograph showing 24 Darshill, Shepton Mallet, Somerset in about 1910.

It depicts a group of people standing around a bobbin winder machine outside a textile workers cottage. The cottage was opposite a silk mill. The people have been identified as Mrs Jacobs, Elsie Tutton (later Elsie Ware), and Tom Tutton.

The photograph is a copy of the original image, probably made in the 1980s.

Archival History

The photograph was acquired by the NMR in 2011.
