This collection contains 63 watercolour paintings of medieval stained glass recorded by Elsie Matley Moore between 1935 and 1957. Each drawing is annotated and some are accompanied by photographs and index cards.
The location of the stained glass includes churches in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Worcestershire. There are also examples from Tewkesbury Abbey, Wells Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, Hailes Abbey, and Great and Little Malvern Priories.
This is an important early record of medieval stained glass. Many of the paintings were exhibited at Worcester Cathedral in 1943 and Coventry Herbert Art Gallery in 1951.
