Archival History

The negatives are attributed to John Forbes White (fl. 1831-1904), a Scottish photographer. There are other paper negatives relating to Furness Abbey in the NMR which have not yet been attributed to Forbes White.

The negatives were given to the NMR by the National Buildings Record of Scotland after 1950.
