- Collection Containing Photographic Material
The collection contains eleven small format glass plate negatives, dating from circa 1910 - 1920. It includes two photographs of the wreck of the Preussen, a five masted steel windjammer built in 1902, and wrecked off the cliffs near Dover in November 1910. These two photographs have been attributed to the Deal photographer F Russell Jewry. The remainder of the collection, possibly by the same photographer, contains images of people posed in a field, a cricket team, a woman holding a cat, unidentified village scenes, and a pub called the Fighting Cocks. No further details are known regarding the provenance of this collection.
The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive before 2017.
