In the 1970s, Graham Cooper, with Doug Sargent, created the Art and Architecture slide collection (reference: AAA02): a survey of murals, sculpture and other artwork in the public realm that culminated in publication, an amenity society, and international exhibition. Having graduated from the Royal College of Art, Graham continued his research and practice in art in the built environment, leading to further publications and exhibitions. In the early 2000s, he examined the value of art in healthcare settings and worked with Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa, curating an Anglo-Japanese exhibition. Graham's digital photographs are an important survey of public art in England from the 1980s to the 2010s, a dynamic period of catalysts such as urban regeneration and Millennium projects.
