Description

Contour plots for Glastonbury Tor and Silbury Hill. The former is an unverified machine trace survey at 1:500, plotted from photography dated April 1964. Associated with it is a sheet of control data, a cross-section and a sketch map based on the tithe map of 1844. The survey was carried out by B.K.S. Technical Services Ltd., Ballycairn Road, Coleraine, and the survey sheet is marked up as National Trust copy. The Silbury Hill survey is part of photogrammetric plot at 1:200 scale based on photography and ground control taken in 1968. The original was drawn for Professor RJC Atkinson as part of the BBC Silbury Hill Project. Also included is a copy of an article from The Daily Telegraph Magazine of 20th August, 1976, which includes information on the BBC Project.
