The collection contains records relating to commercial estate agent, Healey and Baker. They comprise: a ledger, indexed alphabetically by location, recording lettings and sale prices for commercial properties in London and other towns and cities in England between 1946 and 1966 (HAB01/02); eight albums of black and white photographs showing views of parades of shops in Greater London and neighbouring counties in the 1940s (HAB01/01/001-004 and HAB01/01/006-009); an album of colour photographs showing commercial property in and around London in the 1960s (HAB01/01/005); an album of colour photographs showing shop fronts in Covent Garden and York in the 1980s (HAB01/01/10); and a loose print showing the offices of Healey and Baker in St. George Street, London.
George Healey founded the firm in 1910, taking building leases near Regent's Park during the construction of Regent Street. He was joined by partner George Henry Baker, who joined in the same year and whose name was added to the firm's in 1920. Baker initiated the firm's focus on commercial property. Healey and Baker began a joint initiative with Cushman & Wakefield in 1990 and merged in 1998 with them. They rebranded to Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker in 2002 and subsequently, the Healey and Baker name was dropped.
The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2021.
