Description

The full title of the book is 'Plans and Photographs of Stonehenge, and of Turusachan in the Island of Lewis, with Notes Relating to the Druids and Sketches of Cromlechs in Ireland'. It was written by Henry James, Director General of the Ordnance Survey, in 1867. It includes plans of Stonehenge with eight black and white photographic prints of the site. There is also a plan and drawings of Turusachan, and several drawings of Cromlechs. At the back of the volume are drawings of sculptured stones found at Drambuie in Glen Urquhart, and of a monumental cross at Aberiachan.
