The archive is a copy of a survey of medieval Winchelsea. The report was written by Peter E. Leach in 1986 for the Field Archaeology Unit, Institute of Archaeology, University of London. The work was commissioned by the Department of the Environment in 1983. The originals were sent to East Sussex County Council and two copies made. One of these was sent to the DOE and the other to the NMR.
