Description

John Bowes Morrell was an English author and historian, and the owner of a number of newspapers in the York area in the first half of the 20th century, including the Northern Echo. During WWII, he arranged for local press photographers to undertake photography of threatened buildings, and those damaged during the York Blitz, and provided prints to the NBR.

Deposit of the negatives took place in two batches in November 1965 and April 1966.
