Description
The collection contains 238 black and white copy photographs of published drawings of Hertfordshire by John Chessell Buckler (1793-1894).
The copy prints were made in about the 1990s from microfilm copies of 'Views of Hertfordshire: a Collection of Drawings' which is held by Hertfordshire Record Office. The copies in this collection cover Volume I (Baldock, Barnet and Berkhamsted Deaneries) and Volume II (Bishop's Stortford and Buntingford Deaneries) of this publication. The complete publication is held by the Record Office under the reference DE/Bg. The original drawings were published between about 1835 and 1840.
The images in the collection are primarily of interiors and exteriors of churches including tombs, fonts and monuments.

The collection was acquired by the NMR before 2010.
