Description

The collection comprises circa 8,110 colour 35mm slides, taken by Dr G H Jennings. The slides date from the 1950s to the 1970s. It is likely that they were taken by Jennings on family holidays and day trips, as most of the locations represented are those often associated with tourism. These include: the Lake District, the Isle of Wight, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Northumberland, Kent, East Sussex, the Cotswolds, the Peak District, and Wales. The images show landscapes, street scenes, historic buildings, coastal views, and villagescapes. There are also a number of images showing family members and family events, including weddings. The collection was deposited with the archive in 1990, but no further information is known about the creator or provenance.

A handlist of slides listing locations covered is available.
