The collection contains 37 postcards showing a variety of English buildings. Locations include Buckingham Palace, Royal Festival Hall, Clifford's Inn, Somerset House, Houses of Parliament, Imperial Institute, and Convent of Poor Clares, Notting Hill in London; the Royal Infirmary, Town Hall, and General Post Office, Manchester; and churches in Lundy in Cornwall, Arundel in Sussex, and Richmond Upon Thames. Country houses represented include Eaton Hall, Cheshire; Lea Park, Surrey; Hooton Hall, Cheshire; Crichel House, Dorset; and Minley Manor, Hampshire.

John Greenacombe was editor of the Survey of London. He gave this collection to the NMR in 2004.
