Description

The collection contains a photographically illustrated book, published in 1869, entitled ‘The Abbey and Palace of Westminster’ written by John Harrington. The book contains 39 black and white albumen photographic prints which are among the best early photographs taken of these important interiors. The book was published by Sampson Low, Son & Marston, Crown Buildings, 188 Fleet Street, London. The book originally contained an additional print which is missing.

The Collection was acquired by The Historic England Archive in 2012.
