Description

A collection of photography by John Joseph Edmunds (1883-1971). Edmunds was a Bedfordshire based photographer operating between the 1920s and 1940s, and the collection primarily comprises images of church exteriors and interiors, covering most of the country. The collection is in two parts. The first series consists of material deposited with the Archive after Edmunds' death in 1971. The second series contains negatives deposited with the National Buildings Record by Edmunds in the 1920s-1940s.

Archival History

Received Via : Berkshire Record Office, 1995 (files only) Provenance : Bedfordshire-based photographer operating from 1920s-1940s. These negatives were probably deposited en bloc (after Edmund's death?), and are additional to the photography he contributed to the NBR in a voluntary capacity in the 1940s-1950s.
