Description

The collection comprises approximately 7000 35mm slides, 179 files of photographs, drawings and research papers, and 5100 negatives and transparencies showing historic buildings compiled by architectural historian, John McCann (fl. 1928-2018). The collection primarily relates to East Anglia and the West Country along with research material for a wide variety of non-domestic building types. Subjects include timber framed buildings, windmill, watermills, pumps, bread ovens, icehouses, mud and earth buildings, metal windows, granaries and staddle stones.

Archival History

The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2018.
