A small collection of six early photographs, compiled by Ian Leith. The images comprise: two carte de visite of Normanhurst, Catsfield, East Sussex, photographed by H G Inskipp of Tunbridge Wells; one carte de visite showing a foliage arch (possibly for the Jubilee) in the churchyard at Tickhill, South Yorkshire, photographed by T Clixby; two cabinet prints showing timber framed houses constructed for the 1884 International Health Exhibition in South Kensington, photographed by the London Stereoscopic Company; and a view of the High Street in Clovelly circa 1900, by an unknown photographer. This last is an example of the Photocrom continuous tone process, a rare early colour process.
The collection was acquired by the Historic England in 2006.
