The collection contains three volumes published (but confidential at the time of publication) by the German War Map & Survey Department (Abteilung fur Kriegscarten und Vermessungwesen), Berlin in 1941.
The first volume entitled 'Militargeographische Angaben uber England - Sudkuste - 3. Nachtrag zum Text - und Bildheft Goneigtaufnahmen vom Ostabschnitt (Littlehampton bis Margate) mit Text und Kartenanlage' is dated 31 May 1941. It contains a German photographic oblique air photo panorama of the south coast of England between Littlehampton and Margate with many fold-out half-tone images printed on both sides.
The second volume entitled 'Militargeographische Angaben uber England - Sudkuste - Text- und Bildheft mit Kartenanlagen mit 1. und 2. Nachtrag' is dated 15 August 1940.It comprises an invasion handbook with over 450 printed pages for the entire south coast of England from Penzance to Margate with annotated maps, photographs, photos of geographic models and coast landscape profiles. Many of the maps & photos derive from UK sources but with added military interpretation.
The third volume entitled 'Stadtdurchfahrplane England (ohme London) 2. verbesserte Auflage' is dated 1 August 1941. It comprises a booklet of mostly English town street plans [excluding London] with main routes and distance in kilometres to other towns. Includes Wales and lowland Scotland.
