Collection: German World War II maps of English towns
- Date:
- 1940 - 1941

- Type:
- Collection containing Graphic material
The collection contains 24 Ordnance Survey maps reissued by the Abteilung fur Kriegskarten und Vermessungswesen, Berlin, Germany in 1941. The maps are at 1:10.000 scale and have details marked in colours.
Extensive added German interpretation is evident presumably for post-invasion purposes. All key industries and strategic sites are identified although these do not seem to be bombing target maps. Towns covered include Northampton, Rugby, Gloucester, Birmingham, Wallsall, and Dudley.
A handlist is available.
The collection was acquired by the NMR in 2010.
