The collection comprises sixteen large format glass plate negatives of Uffington House in Lincolnshire. There are two exterior views, nine interior views, two photographs of engravings in the house, details of a framed mirror and a christening bowl, and a photograph of a watercolour showing the exterior of the house.
Uffington House was built in the 1680s. It was destroyed by fire on 18th December 1904. The photographs date from 1893, but the identity of the photographer is unknown.
The collection was donated to the NMR in 1981 by David Ian Liddell-Grainger (1930-2007).
