The Collection consists of an album entitled ‘Views of London and Vicinity. New Series’ created by The London Stereoscopic Company. It contains around 90 black and white albumen photographic prints, taken between c.1875 and c.1895 which depict good street and river views.
Locations include Greenwich, Virginia Water, Hampton Court and bridge, Lambeth Palace and pier, Tower Bridge under construction, Hanover Chapel, Oxford Street, The Strand, House of Commons, Molesey Weir and Lock, Staines Lock, and SS Ruahine in dock.
The Collection was acquired by The Historic England Archive in 2012.
