The collection comprises approximately 710 black and white negatives taken by Lady Trenchard Cox in the mid-20th century. The negatives mainly show medieval church architecture, both interior and exterior; there are a small number of general exterior views of churches. The collection includes photographs showing locations in most of the counties of England. There are 6 negatives showing Welsh locations, and 2 of Scotland.
