Description

The collection comprises an album containing about 1000 postcards published by the Ministry of Works between about 1918 and 1939. The album was compiled by Noel Melville-Richards (1909-1993), a photographer who started work with the Ministry in 1934 and remained there and in other government departments for 36 years. It is likely that some of the postcards in the album are derived from his photographs but it is not known which of the postcards were.

Archival History

The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2021.
