Description

The collection contains eight black and white photomechanically produced prints showing No Mans' Land Fort in the Solent in 1909. The prints are stamped with 'The Commanding Royal Engineer, Portsea'. Some of the images are marked Heliotype S.M.E. Heliotype is the name of the photomechanical process. The images show interior and exterior views of the fort which lies between the Isle of Wight and Hampshire.

The collection was acquired by The English Heritage Archive before 2012.
