Description

Carl Norman (1841-1927) was a photographic publisher born in Norway, who lived in Tunbridge Wells and later Watford. He was in partnership with John Norton in the 1880s and later sold his business to Photochrom Company for whom he became managing director. This collection, consisting of 62 glass plate negatives taken between 1885 and 1905, includes famous London landmarks, street scenes and also 18 photographs taken in Newgate Prison after its closure.
