The collection comprises circa 320 postcards showing Swindon and Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire; Bransgore, Hampshire; and other places including an army camp and Chisseldon. The postcards were compiled by former member of Historic England staff, Karen Allen. The postcards date from about 1900 and are supplemented by a few printed items and photographs probably produced in the 2010s. There are 211 postcards of Swindon mounted in an album and an additional 32 loose postcarsds of the town; 36 postcards and 9 other printed items and photographs showing Royal Wootton Bassett, 29 postcards and 2 other printed items showing Bransgore; and otehr postcards showing: Chisledon Army Camp; White Horse at Broad Hinton, Wiltshire; Rosendale Hall, West Dulwich; parks and gardens in Bournemouth; and Looe, Stratton, and King Hary Passage, Cornwall.
The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2025.
