The collection contains 298 black and white photographs of town centre buildings in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire taken by the Air Ministry between 1957 and 1960. The photographs were taken on the ground and depict street elevations. The photographs were taken for the Ministry of Housing and Local Government as part of the process of listing historic buildings. Some duplicate photographs are included and there is also a single positive transparency. Also included in the collection are paper lists of its contents, and letters from S.J. Garton of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government and E.L. Higgins the Gloucestershire County Planning Officer.
Box 1 contains photographs of High Street and box 2 contans photographs of Barton Street and Church Street, the correspondence, the lists and the positive transparency.
A partial handlist is available.
The collection was acquired by The English Heritage Archive in 2012.
