Collection: Brenda Toosey Collection

Description

The collection comprises 50 photograph albums (TOO01/01) containing colour prints and other material collated by Dr Brenda Toosey (1916-2009) during the 1980s and 1990s. In addition, there is a separate volume (TOO01/02) that comprises an index to the 9 albums relating to Kent.The albums relate primarily to funerary church monuments in the south-western, south-eastern and East Anglian English counties. The albums also contain church guide books and postcards and include heraldry information and details of church furnishings. The albums provide useful comparative records for sculpture and church monuments.

Archival History

The collection was acquired by the Historic England Archive in two parts: in 2004 (TOO01/01/01 - TOO01/01/27) and in 2018 (TOO01/01/28 - TOO01/01/50 and TOO01/02).
