- Collection Containing Photographic Material
A collection comprising small format contact prints copied in 1975 from original photographic images held by the Museum of London. The images, originally dating from 1937, are the work of an anonymous photographer who was employed by the Port of London Authority to create a photographic survey of the buildings along the north and south banks of the River Thames in London. The result shows the buildings along the Thames between London Bridge and Greenwich, shortly before the Second World War, when bombing would lead to huge changes to the built landscape along the river.
The images were published in 'London's Lost Riverscape: A Photographic Panorama', by Chris Ellmers and Alex Werner.
