Description

A small collection of twenty-four unrelated photographic prints covering a range of geographic locations, and dating from the 1870s - 1880s, which were purchased from Mrs Urban-Smith in 1992.

The collection contains two cartes de visites showing the pier at Ryde on the Isle of Wight, and a font in an unidentified church. There is also a print showing a boys' marching band outside Wellington School in Somerset. Other locations covered by the collection comprise: Hereford Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, Winchester Cathedral, the River Itchen and St Catherine's Hill in Winchester, King Alfred's Statue, the Market Cross and the Westgate in Winchester, Knole in Kent, and Bayham Abbey in Kent. There is also one photograph of the Crumlin Viaduct in South Wales, and one of the Festiniog Railway laden with workers.
