Description

The Port of Liverpool building was designed in the early 20th century. The stained glass windows, executed by George Wragge Ltd of Salford, are representative of the constituent territories of the British Empire at the time. 'Ceylon' is the name by which Sri Lanka was known while it was a British Crown colony; the country was renamed Sri Lanka in 1948 when it regained independence.
