Description

Wades Farm was originally one timber framed hall house, dating from the early fifteenth century, with additions in the sixteenth century. The house was altered in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, divided into five cottages before this photograph was taken (numbered 1-5), subsequently altered to form three cottages (numbered 1,2 and 4). It's likely that this set of photographs was commissioned to record the condition of the building before alteration works were to be carried out. The building is now divided into two dwellings, numbered 1 and 4.
