The church was built between 1632 and 1634, founded by John Harrison. It underwent alterations and restorations in 1830-1838, 1866-1868 and 1890. It has a west tower, nave with south aisle, south porch and chancel with embattled parapets throughout. The south arcade has octagonal piers with round headed arches, and a timber roof with tie beams and angel corbels. The design of the Royal Coat of Arms shows the English Lion and Scottish Unicorn either side of an emblem, with the phrase "DIEU ET MON DROIT", meaning "God and my right".
