The houses date to c1750, and were restored in the late 20th century. They were constructed with brick and ashlar dressings, and each house has three storeys and four bays. The windows have brick wedge lintels and ashlar keystones, and sills with corbels, and the doors have wooden doorcases with a pediment. In the window is a damaged sign for the Cherry family bookbinders, which started with Septimus Cherry in the 1830's. Mrs Rebecca Cherry is most likely to have been the last Cherry bookbinder.
