The hotel dates to the late 17th century, has three storeys and seven bays to the south elevation with giant Ionic pilasters. The 17th century staircase has a pierced balustrade carved with foliage, a moulded handrail and end posts with ball finials. It is believed to have been re-sited from Lochleven Castle.
