Description

View of Steps Bridge over the River Teign, a road bridge built in 1816 by Edward Taylor and George Weatherdon, with the river in the foreground. The three-span bridge has domed cutwaters, two of which are visible, which are projecttions on a bridge used to divert water away, preventing any debris from becoming trapped against the bridge piers. The bridge is a 19th century restoration of a 16th century bridge, as stated by the 1952 listing description.
