The photographer’s notes state: ‘Church House, south front, Clifton Hill. Green House (No. 22 Clifton Road) is the corner house on right. the former house became the residence of the Bishop of Bristol about 1941, after his former home had been destroyed in an air raid on Dec. 2. 1940. The house has been renamed Bishop's House.'
