Description

The cinema, located on the corner of Westbourne Grove and Chepstow Road, was originally designed in 1937 and work began the following year. With the outbreak of the Second World War, however, all building work was halted at the site and did not re-commence until the end of 1954.

The Odeon Westbourne Grove was finally opened on 29th August 1955, with a single screen and with seating arranged in stalls and a circle. It was redeveloped in 1978 and two further screens were added. In 1983 it was taken over by an independent cinema operator but closed only three years later.

The building was demolished in October 1986 and the site redeveloped.

The poster over the entrance door is the for the film 'Timeslip' which was released in November 1955.
