Description

The photographer's notes state: 'In the walled garden. Looking west along the central path. This garden has now been replaced by a nursery and the postern gate at the end of the path now opens on to hard tennis courts instead of a copse. (The above nursery was laid out as the Festival Garden in the year of the Festival of Britain, 1951)'.

Sidcup Place was in use as a school from 1907 until 1933 when it was purchased by the Chislehurst and Sidcup Urban District Council to act as their headquarters. It was later used by the London Borough of Bexley.
