Description

The photographer's notes state: 'Nos 72 (nearest), 74 & 76 (weatherboarded block); then Nos 78, 80 & 82 (cream washed block). West side. Police station south of yard on left (east). This yard is on the site of the old two gabled block between the police station on south and the 'Black Boy' pub on the north (see No 881). Just beyond the Police station and set back are Nos 81 & 83 "Dunley House" (further one)'. [No 881 refers to BB71/09108]

There is also an additional note stating: 'Nos 72-82 incl. badly damaged by enemy action April 16. 1941'.

They have since been demolished and the yard from which this photograph was taken is now the west end of Mountfield Way.
