The photographer's notes state: 'The pool from the garden porch, west front, of the house. The stone shaft, on left of the path, brought from the Giants Causeway, N. Ireland'.
Effingham Lodge was located on the west side of the High Street, opposite the Rookery and to the south of Spring Hall. It was demolished some time after the Second World War.
