Description

This is a photograph of an older photographic image. It is believed that the image was photographed by PEW Street c1920-1950.

The lettering of the shop name has been hand traced over with pen to preserve the outline but it is not known whether this occurred on the original print or on the negative taken by P. E. W. Street.

The photographer's notes state: 'Copy. Shop front, No 61 High Street (e.side) north of Popplewell's Corner. E. A. Edmed is the little boy. From an old photo, taken about 1873 or 4. Entirely rebuilt by Mr John Edmund some years later'.
