Description

The photographer's notes state: 'Mayfield. The house. South front & back (west) from S.W'.

There is an additional note for the site stating: 'The house was demolished in Oct 1938. The stable building (mostly) & the farmbuilding demolished some years before'.

Although the photographer's notes state the view is from the south-west, given the orientation of the house as recorded on contemporary maps, it is believed that it is actually closer to west.
