The photograph is believed to have been taken at the back of the buildings facing Boundary Street. It also thought to show, 17 Boundary Street on the far left with the entrance to Hare Alley to its right. William Milner Woof & Co, linendrapers, occupied number 80 Shoreditch High Street and Jeremiah Rotherham & Co, wholesale drapery warehousemen, occupied numbers 81-84 and 85-91.
