Description

This painting was created by Clayton & Bell as a design for a decorative frieze for RMS Oceanic, an ocean liner built in 1899, which sailed between Liverpool/ Southampton and New York. The RMS Oceanic was part of the White Star Line's fleet, and was the largest ship in the world until 1901.
